I was in India for three months earlier this year (January to April). I’m pretty sure that India is about 180° different from the Pacific Northwest. I remember friends telling me what India was like before I left, and I can’t believe that I actually thought I had a pretty good idea what it would be like. I couldn’t have been more wrong! India is a land of extremes, and sensory overload. You truly can’t imagine it until you see it. India is an immensely magical place, but it is certainly not for everybody to say the least. Despite that, I still recommend that everybody see it at least once in their lives, if they are able to, just for a glimpse of what beautiful chaos truly is. India is, and always will be, in my heart.
I took thousands and thousands of photos while I was there. So much to see and so much to photograph! I’m having a few shows of my images from the Holi festival in Jaipur at a few galleries in Vancouver early next year. Stay tuned for more info on that! For now, I hope you enjoy a small selection of some of my personal favourites from some of the places where I felt comfortable having my camera out. I hope you enjoy! And as they say in India, namaste. :)
